David Crockett was 49 when he died on March 6, 1836. He was an American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier, and politician. He was the "King of the Wild Frontier" and was famous during his lifetime for larger-than-life exploits. He represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives and died defending the Alamo during the Texas Revolution.
